FIRST NATIONS YOGA PROJECT

The First Nations Yoga Project is connecting with Aboriginal communities through the practice of yoga. Our programs address each community’s individuality and needs by taking a 3 step approach:

  • Customized Programs - Each community’s specific needs are defined through open communication and collaboration with local leaders, creating a customized approach to address those needs.

  • Go where we’re needed – We provide training in locations that are accessible to the program participants, provide all of the tools to execute the program, and strive to provide tools and resources to leave behind to help the participants develop their own individual practices.

  • Provide Training for Program Sustainability – We provide opportunities for interested students to become teachers themselves. This training provides long- term sustainability for the program within the community, creates jobs, and improves the quality of life for First Nations peoples.

This September 7th-20th True North Yoga, Terri Fisher and The Chippewas of The Thames First Nation are hosting a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training for people of First Nations /Native American Heritage.  This certification will provide all participants with a certification that will allow them to teach yoga anywhere around the world and, True North will work with the participants and their communities to establish yoga programs that will share all of the benefits of yoga with their communities while simultaneously creating employment for the participants.

We invite all First Nations and Native American people to register and attend our training.  Please click on the link below to apply.

PLEASE NOTE:  There is a $975.00 fee for this training however we have multiple SCHOLARSHIPS and encourage every person with a desire to participate to apply.
